Lowcountry Orphan Relief and the Captain Walter G. Powell Legacy Fund are pleased to present the Kidz to Camp “Campership”, sending young people to Camp Sewee the summer of 2020.  Details regarding the camperships are below, but feel free to contact Meagan at with questions.

About the Captain Walter G. Powell Legacy Fund

Captain Walter Powell was a devoted family man, long-time foster parent, and dedicated law enforcement officer for over 50 years with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. To honor his legacy, the Powell-McDaniels family has established this Legacy Fund to provide foster children in our community with camperships to attend summer camp. They believe that, in addition to the adventure that summer camp offers, this opportunity can also help children form a special community in an environment created just for them, while learning important life skills such as independence, perseverance, and the ability to work as part of a team. Through the Kidz to Camp program, his family hopes that this experience will help our campers build the confidence to discover their best selves, while exploring interesting activities, making new friends and creating wonderful, lasting memories.

But most importantly…that they have FUN!
