On Monday April 2nd Lowcountry Orphan Relief brought 40 kids to Wild Blue Ropes on James Island for a day of fun and confidence building! Each year LOR hosts Beach Day and Make A Child Happy Day but this was the first event in partnership with Wild Blue Ropes Adventure Park. Their staff were professional and fun and we hope to continue this amazing event in future. LOR opted to bring kids ages 12+ to this particular event and chose a date that would align with the Charleston Tri-County area spring break schedule so these awesome kids could make the most of their time up on the ropes course. We were thankful our partners Jenkins Academy, Florence Crittenton, and CYDC were able to participate in this exciting day.The awesome staff at Wild Blue Ropes explained safety measures to 40 kids. They learned how to gear up, clamp on to the ropes, and how to safely have fun! Some of them were really excited and fearless while others seemed anxious and reserved. And once up on the course we could hear shouts of encouragement from all across the park! It was fantastic to see some facing their fears and all around everyone having a great time. At LOR our aim is to make sure all kids have the basic necessities they need in life to grow into successful adults. From shoes and clothes to life-skills training we aim to provide items and experiences that will enrich the lives of foster and at-risk youth in our community. Your support of LOR makes experiences like this possible. Thank you!
